Alec arrives in Folkestone on 22 September 1915 to take up the position of curate at St. Jude's. In his assistance to the vicar Ralph Winwood, Alec quickly becomes a trusted member of the community.

Alec is not interested in punishing wrongdoing, rather in being forgiving and compassionate. An expert in Theology, he isn’t afraid to step outside the rules of the clergy if he feels he is still following God’s will. He also happens to be a rather skilled carpenter.
