Ivy is the niece of Ewart Potter. She arrives in Folkestone to take on a new job as assistant manager of the Pleasure Gardens Theatre, which her uncle has arranged for her.

Warm and friendly, unfortunately Ivy can be misunderstood and she has a way with men that infuriates their wives. Her singing voice delights men and women alike though. By 1918, Ivy becomes a married woman.
