Rev. Dr. Paul Bailie

Reverend Doctorr Paul Bailie has been a Presbyterian minister since 1995. For most of his ministry he has been involved in missionary work in Africa - first as an Old Testament lecturer in Kenya and - since 2005 - as CEO of Mission Africa. Mission Africa is one of Ireland's oldest independent missionary agencies, founded in 1887 as the Qua Iboe Mission. Paul continues to teach Old Testament as an adjunct lecturer at Union Theological College, Belfast; his particular interest is Old Testament history. A keen student of modern military history, he is also involved in the Military Historical Society NI. Hobbies include book collecting and photography. His wife, Dr Anne Bailie, is an English teacher and together they share an enthusiasm for theatre, especially Shakespeare. As might be expected, Paul's Thoughts For The Day tend to be reflections on lessons from history.
