Bryan Gallagher
Bryan Gallagher is a retired headmaster who has spent his whole life living in Fermanagh near the beautiful shores of Lough Erne. He was reared in Derrylin but now lives with his wife Maeve in Enniskillen. They have five children, Declan, Garvan, Ciara, Bryan Og and Riana. He has had a distinguished teaching career, as Principal of St. Mary's P.S. Mullymesker, Founding Principal of St. Aidan's High School, Derrylin, and Headmaster of St. Joseph's College Enniskillen. Bryan is a regular contributor to ‘Thought For The Day’ on BBC Radio Ulster and was a regular columnist on BBC Radio 4 ‘Home Truths’ until the death of its presenter John Peel. He has written ‘There’ll not be a Crowd Till The Crowd Gathers’, a memoir of the Starlight Dance Band. His most recent book, ‘Barefoot in Mullyneeny’, published by Harper Collins, has attracted excellent reviews and has sold out. He is a member and past president of Fermanagh Choral Society and of Enniskillen Probus Club. Since his retirement, he has forged a new career as a member of Erne Heritage Tour Guides, and as an accomplished after-dinner speaker and raconteur.
