Cricketer Darren Gough won the third series of Strictly, despite never finishing top of the judges’ leaderboard. He and his partner, Lilia Kopylova, defeated athlete Colin Jackson and presenter Zoë Ball in the final.

Darren and Lilia paired up again for the Christmas Specials in 2005 and 2007. The duo received top marks on both occasions for their Quickstep and American smooth respectively.
Darren retired from cricket in 2008; he has since gone on to co-present a weekday radio show on talkSPORT.
