Jill Halfpenny flicked and kicked her way to success with partner Darren Bennett during the second series of Strictly. She beat off competition from Julian Clary and Denise Lewis to be crowned the Strictly champion in 2004.

To this day Jill holds the highest score for a Jive in Strictly history, scoring 40 points from the judges.
At the time Jill was appearing as Kate in EastEnders but had been a well-known face on British TV since her appearance on children’s TV show Byker Grove.
After Strictly, Jill went on to win the Strictly Christmas special in 2004, and now has a flourishing West End theatre career with roles in Calendar Girls and Legally Blonde.
