Singer Jay McGuiness and pro partner Aliona Vilani became the 13th champions to lift Strictly Come Dancing's Glitterball Trophy in 2015.

The former member of The Wanted wowed the judges with three amazing dances: a Quickstep to ‘My Generation’, which scored 36; a Showdance to ‘Can’t Feel my Face’ which scored 35 points; and a Paso Doble to ‘It’s My Life’ scoring 39 points and prompting Darcey to say: “You are number one in my book!”

Upon finding out he’d won, Jay said to Tess: “I feel spaced out – it’s really weird!” before telling Aliona: “You deserve it so much, you really do.”

He went on to tell Tess: “It’s been one of the most special things I’ve done and with the most special person. And I think if anyone that watched that helped us to get here and enjoyed what we were doing, I’m really happy that you liked it because it’s the best thing I’ve ever done.”

Jay and Aliona beat Georgia May Foote and Kellie Bright in the final.
