Mersey Ferry, Liverpool to Birkenhead

The bridge aboard the Mersey Ferry will play host to The Button Street Badger Band who will perform traditional sea shanties as the ferry shuttles commuters between the communities of the Wirral and Liverpool.

The Mersey Ferry is the latest in a long line of boats that have shuttled across the Mersey since the Benedictine monks began a service. It was given a royal charter by Edward III in 1330.

Epping Walk Bridge, Manchester

With BBC Radio Manchester

BBC Radio Manchester will be broadcasting from Epping Walk bridge with The Voice Assembly, a choir made up of singers from all kinds of backgrounds and communities. They will be performing Put A Little love In Your Heart made famous by Annie Lennox and Al Green.

BIMM (British Institute of Modern Music) students will perform a mash-up of Black and White Town by Doves.

Also performing will be Hooky’s All Star Band, Mike Sweeney, and, BBC Introducing band, The Dantevilles performing a special cover version of Love Will Tear Us Apart.

The bridge is known for the iconic Joy Division image by internationally renowned photographer Kevin Cummins. Located over Princess Parkway in Hulme, it is a must for music lovers attempting to recreate the famous photograph.

Lune Aquaduct, Lancaster

With BBC Radio Lancashire

Guitarist Jamie Brewer and The Songs Room Choir will perform Simon and Garfunkel's 59th St Bridge Song (Feelin’ Groovy). The musicians will perform the song live while sitting on a narrow boat.

John Rennie designed Lancashire's Grade I listed Lune Aqueduct in the late 1700s. It carries the Lancaster Canal over the River Lune. He used stone and cast iron to produce bridges with daringly wide arches. The Lancaster Canal is a contour canal - built along the natural lie of the land. It has 41 miles without locks, the longest such stretch in the country.

Pooley Bridge, Ullswater, Cumbria

Annemarie Quinn, a singer-songwriter from Keswick, and Fellside Singers, a local Kendal choir, will be performing on Pooley Bridge for BBC Radio Cumbria.

Phoenix Bridge, Cleator Moor, Cumbria

Cleator Moor Brass Band and Zoe Warren, a singer-songwriter from Whitehaven, will be performing on the Phoenix bridge across the cycleway.

Weatheral Viaduct, Carlisle, Cumbria

Brampton Community Choir and Emma Dockeray, a singer-songwriter from West Cumbria, will perform on the footbridge of the Wetheral Viaduct.

Jubilee Bridge, Barrow in Furness, Cumbria

Barrow Male Voice Choir will perform on BBC Radio Cumbria's afternoon show.

Jubilee Bridge, connects the Barrow Island ward on the British mainland to Walney Island, spanning Walney Channel.

Devil's Bridge, Kirkby Lonsdale, Cumbria

A local ukulele band will perform for the BBC Radio Cumbria drive time show.

Devil's bridge dates from 1370. Legend holds that the Devil appeared to an old woman, promising to build a bridge in exchange for the first soul to cross over it. When the bridge was finished the woman threw bread over the bridge and her dog chased after it, thereby outwitting the Devil.
