Take It To The Bridge - Scotland

With BBC Radio Newcastle

A Borders piper and a Northumbrian piper will begin playing on opposite sides of the bridge before meeting in the middle. The meeting of the pipers will be broadcast live on BBC Radio Newcastle.

The Union Chain Bridge unites England and Scotland over the River Tweed. Designed by Sir Samuel Brown, it was built in 1820. The bridge spans 129 metres, connecting Horncliffe in Northumberland and Fishwick in Borders.
