To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Severn Bridge and the dawn of a new BBC Music Day, Grammy Award-winning local singer-songwriter Amy Wadge has composed a special song to perform on the bridge. Bristol's Gospel Generation Community Choir will be joined by Only Men Aloud at the Aust viewing area to jointly perform the song.
BBC Radio Bristol, BBC Radio Gloucestershire and BBC Radio Wales will broadcast the performances live.
The Severn Bridge was opened by The Queen in 1966 and replaced the ferry service crossing from Aust to Beachley. The new bridge provided a direct link for the M4 motorway into Wales and has carried more than 300,000,000 vehicles since it opened.

The Royal Albert Bridge, Saltash, Cornwall

Falmouth singer-songwriter Polly Money will be performing live on Saltash train station with views of the iconic Royal Albert Bridge. You can hear her on BBC Radio Cornwall. In 2014, while still studying, Polly wowed the crowds when she played the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury. She’s also been a supporting act for Muse, Dizzee Rascal and Gabrielle Aplin.
The Royal Albert Bridge stands as a testament to the nineteenth century engineering giant, Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Brunel was both chief designer and engineer for the bridge that connects Cornwall and Devon by rail across the river Tamar. The bridge’s two main spans are built on the principle of a suspension bridge and is the only one of its type that carries main line trains. Prince Albert opened the bridge in May 1859, just months before Brunel died.

Yazzy Chamberlain will be playing her original music on the quay next to the Longbridge. The seventeen year old singer songwriter has already released 2 albums to critical acclaim and most weekends Yazzy can be seen playing live around the region. All of this while doing her GCSEs and A-Levels.
Yazzy will be performing live between 7:30am and 9am and you’ll be able to hear on BBC Radio Devon’s Breakfast programme at 7:50am
Bideford’s Long Bridge is a Grade 1 listed bridge that spans the river Torridge in north Devon. As one of the longest medieval bridges in England it linked the old part of the town to East-the-Water on the opposite side of the river.

The Bridge, Sampson, Guernsey

BBC Radio Guernsey and local musicians will be performing live music from 8am and BBC Radio Guernsey will be crossing live to the event just after 9am and then at 12:30pm. BBC Radio Guernsey will return to the events at 1:30pm and 5pm.
The Bridge is an area of Guernsey, on the border of the parishes of St Sampson and The Vale. Historically it marks the location of the bridge that once linked the two parts of the island, before the tidal channel, known as Le Braye du Valle, was filled in by the Lieutenant Governor of Guernsey, Lt General Sir John Doyle as part of the islands strengthened defences in 1806. Overlooked by Vale Castle it is home to St Sampson’s Harbour.

St Helier’s Weighbridge, Jersey

BBC Radio Jersey will be joined by a local theatre company and a variety of musical acts for BBC Music Day. There will be music from 8am until 5pm. BBC Radio Jersey will have live coverage at various times through the day in their Breakfast, Mid-morning, Afternoon and Drive programmes.
St Helier’s Weighbridge is one of the most important locations in the city. It is the name given to the area to the north of the Old Harbour and New North Quay where the original public weighbridge was built in the nineteenth century.
