Secrets in the Rainforest

Secrets in the Rainforest
Read by Emilio Doorgasingh from the BBC Radio Drama Company.
The rainforest holds secrets you thought could never be told
But the exotic insects whisper them and the snakes hiss them bold.
The little signs no human can hear.
The secret now is that King Gorilla scratches his rear!
One day when the rain was splashing down,
The animals heard a call from the one who holds the crown.
The mighty gorilla was very cross!
He did not like it when they disrespected the boss!
He told them that if anyone even thought about this claim,
Then he would go absolutely mad and insane!
Every animal obeyed this rule.
Apart from one creature, who was young and small.
She thought this secret was ever so funny.
So much so, it made her delicate eyes runny!
Later she posted a picture on 'tree mail'
Of King Gorilla picking his toenail!
Every one in the jungle received the message she sent
And fell to the rainforest floor in laughter and merriment!
All animals were happy in the plants and the trees
All except one...
Do you know who it could be?
Yes! That's right! It was King Gorilla himself!
He thought up a plan that took patience and stealth.
That pesky animal just had to be stopped!
Not long now, the penny had dropped!
The guards were sent to find the fool
Who had been ignoring his important rule.
Not too far through their search
They found a beautiful bird sitting on a perch.
She was asked politely if she had an account on social 'treedia.'
''No!'' she spat, "I only go on Wikipedia!"
So they pressed on, wading through the trees,
Until they found a nest of forbidding bees.
"If I may ask?" said one guard, not daring to look,
"Do you have an account on Treesbook?"
"What nonsense!" hissed the bees and buzzed off into a hollow tree nook.
They finally came to a troop of monkeys.
They asked if any treevices were used and then they got lucky!
They pondered a moment and grabbed a particular monkey
Who was young and small and not at all chunky.
The guards took the treevice from the monkey's hand
And saw she was using a familiar communication brand.
"Treemail!" they shouted.
Her luck had run out!
Mid message, the subject was King Gorilla without a doubt!
At last they had the cyber bully!
She wouldn't admit to her crimes fully.
The king thought the suspect was rather daft.
"I'll check your treevice history!" he laughed.
The silly little monkey, cheeky as can be
Was simply too thick to delete her history!
There it was in black and white.
The treemails she had sent every night!
The moral of the story is never to bully!
You can't always hide the past.
Luckily this monkey was soon found out
And learnt her lesson fast!
