Wetin no correct, wetin no fair, wetin no go help Edo unite, my hand no dey. Na so di Govnor of Edo state Godwin Obaseki tok as e react to questions around di govnorship election for 2024 and who go take over from am.

Inside exclusive interview with BBC Pidgin, di govnor say: "I believe say make you get say, but na di pipo na im dat pesin go govern so na di pipo suppose to decide. Na dem go ultimately must decide who go govern dem, me as a leader I fit only just advise and guide dem."

So any pesin wey come, if una no like di way I do am before, una go come look for pesin wey go do am different or if una like am una fit say ok oga who you tink say go fit continue to do am.

So anybody wey take ova, as long as di pesin come add to wetin we don do, I go support, but if na pesin wey wan come take, I no fit support dat kain tin. If na pesin wey never work before, I no fit hold am say dis na wia you don work before, dis na wetin you don do, den I go come give Edo to you say make you come lead, how you go do am? You no go fit na."

'Who be your prefered candidate for 2024?'

After months of drama and controversy wey di Deputy Govnor of Edo state Philip Shaibu bin allege intimidation and harassment by im principal, im finally come out to declare.

For inside interview wit tori pipo recently, e allege say di harrassment e suffer na sake of say im principal fit get anoda candidate e wan support.

Wek Govnor Obaseki who im preferred candidate be.

"I no get any preferred candidate. But wen dem show me di pipo wey dey, I go look all of dem say dis wan make we check am weda e sabi, dis wan make we check den all of us go decide." Na wetin e ansa.

On di declaration by im deputy to contest and if e go support am, Govnor Obaseki say no be im go decide.

"My deputy declare, e declare for imsef na, na me go decide? na Edo pipo go decide if e get wetin e take to run dis state. If e get maybe, if e no get na Edo pipo go decide how we wan do dis govnorship, na turn by turn or e go base on equity, fairness or justice? But for me, na to siddon supervise. Wetin no correct, wetin no fair, wetin no just and wetin no go help Edo unite, my hand no dey." Obaseki tok.

'Godfatherism get postive and negative side'

One issue wey dey come up again and again for Nigerian politics na di issue of godfatherism and how influential politicians including leaders dey like to play 'god' on who go lead or occupy a certain position of power.

Govnor Obaseki chook mouth for di mata say di word godfather get both postive and negative sides.

"For Christianity wen dem born pikin for church, dem go look for pesin say oga be di godfather of dis child so e fit walk in di way of di lord and do good tins, but if you watch movies like di 'Godfather' e get anoda meaning, e mean say some pipo dey dia dey control tins.

So if na to say to guide pesin in di way of di lord so dat e go do good dat na positive one but if na to say una dey cult, you put dis pesin so una go dey share money dey do, I no tink say dat one correct.

Every body need nurturing, mentoring and guidance but not to di extent of teleguiding you. But supporting, helping you to make di right decisions but ultimately na di pipo go decide who go lead dem and dat pesin go decide how e wan govern. " E tok.

'Edo state international film festival na a promise fulfiled to create jobs'

Govnor Obaseki siddon with BBC Pidgin as pipo gada for di state for di Edo state International Film Festival, ESIFF.

Obaseki say part of di goals with building a creative hub for d state na to create sometin wey go create jobs and make di youths stay.

"I promise for 2016 say if God make me govnor, I go create a minimum 200,000 jobs for my first term and dat promise I no tink say na government go employ all of dem, I hope say areas like Agriculture, Technology, Film and Music na im we go explore.

We call experts wen we enta say films dey grow and oda states dey encourage film producers to come dia come act, many of our citizens don dey act so how we go make sure say we create dat same industry for Edo so our citizens no go dey go oda places dey go find di business and production.

We convert observer premises, move am to one side and build sound stage wia pipo fit come act movies, with dat we see many producers dey come act movies.

Last year, e pass 50 wey dem act for dia, dis year e don reach 100. And not only one company, different pipo don dey come and wen dem come, pipo wey go follow dem carry equipment to shoot dem go hire dem, pipo wey go film, do sound, mama put wey dey cook including drivers go get work. So you can imagine how many pipo don dey get work as a result of am.
