|  | British Isles: A Natural History was an eight-piece epic series presented by Alan Titchmarsh in 2004 on BBC ONE. Alan unravelled the story of the evolution of the British Isles.
To accompany the series bbc.co.uk/norfolk created this Walk Through Time, exploring the long history and a vibrant natural habitat to be found at Whitlingham Country Park. More info: Whitlingham Park includes one of the largest broads in area, almost one mile long from east to west. Wildlife includes Egyptian geese, mute swans, wildfowl, dragonflies and an occasional sighting of the iconic swallowtail butterfly. | Getting there: By bus: For the latest timetable information call Traveline on 0870 608 2608. By car: Whitlingham Country Park is just 10 minutes drive from Norwich city centre. Follow the signs for Trowse, then turn left down Whitlingham Lane and follow signs for the Little and Great Broad.
Car Parking: £1 for up to two hours, £3 over two hours, disabled badge holders - free.
By boat: Access to the park is available by the river city shuttle which leaves Norwich from Elm Hill Quay and Railway Station Quay. Call City Boats on 01603 701701.
