 Whitlingham Country Park, just a couple of miles from the centre of Norwich, includes the first broad to have been created in Norfolk for centuries and boasts a thriving wildlife habitat for both plants and animals.Wildlife includes Egyptian geese, mute swans, wildfowl, dragonflies and an occasional sighting of the iconic swallowtail butterfly. The park, once part of the Crown Point Estate owned by the famous mustard making Colman family, is now managed by the Whitlingham Charitable Trust with assistance from the Broads Authority. The country park also has many historical features including Norfolk's best preserved lime kiln, former chalk pit workings and a manor house ruin with a royal connection. See also:
