Cycling 'queen' focused on gold

World Champion cyclist Victoria Pendleton is fast becoming one of the stars of British sport.

The press have nicknamed the 27-year-old "Queen Victoria" after her success earlier this year at the World Track Cycling Championships where she took two golds and a silver.

Her performances in Manchester means the cyclist, from Stotfold in Bedfordshire, is real golden prospect.

"I know my competitors are looking to me as the one they want to beat," she said.

"All I have to do is maintain my form and I know that will put me in a situation which will make it very hard for anyone to beat me on the day.

"I'm really just focusing on the process of getting there and focusing on my training day in, day out."
