ዛሬ እንዴት መረጃ መጠየቅ እንደምንችል እናያለን፤ በአዳም እና በሌሎች ሶስት ሰዎች መካከል የተከናወኑ ሶስት አጫጭር ውይይቶችን በማዳመጥ እንጀምር። ንግግራቸው ግልፅ ካልሆነልዎት ብዙም አይስጉ፤ ቆይተን እናግዝዎታለን። ለአሁኑ አዳምን ያዳምጡትና የሚያናግራቸውን ሰዎች ያውቃቸዋል ወይስ አያውቃቸውም የሚለውን ለመረዳት ይሞክሩ። 'The nearest supermarket' በቅርብ ያለው የገበያ መደብር የሚለው ሀረግ ለግንዛቤ ይረዳዎታል።

አዎ፤ በጣም ትሁት 'polite' ነበር። ሳም፤ አዳም ሰዎቹን በትህትና ለመጠየቅ የተጠቀማቸው ቃላት እና ሐረጎች ምን ምን ናቸው?

Well, he used 'please' a lot! And also 'excuse me' and 'sorry to bother you' in a polite voice or intonation.

ጥያቄውን የጀመረው 'Where's…' በማለት ነው። 'Where' እና 'is' የተባሉትን ቃላት በማጣመር የተመሰረተ ሀረግ ነው፤ ከዚያም የሚጠይቀውን ነገር አስከትሏል። 'Where' ከሚለው ቃል ውጭ ሌላ ቃል መጠቀምም ይችላሉ።

Yeah, you can say 'What's the nearest supermarket?' or 'Which is the nearest supermarket?'

ይህም የት እንደሚገኝ ሊነግሩኝ ይችላሉ? ማለት ነው። የሁለቱ ጥያቄዎች መደምደሚያ ምንድን ነው? አነባበቡን ሲለማመዱን ሳምን ያዳምጡ። 'Is' የተባለው ግስ የት እንደሚገባም ልብ ይበሉ።

አሁን ልምምድ የሚያደርጉበት ጊዜ ነው። 'The toilet' የመፀዳጃ ቤቱ የት እንደሚገኝ ማወቅ ይፈልጋሉ እንበል፤ እናም አንድ የማያውቁትን ሰው ይጠይቁ። ጥያቄውን 'where' ብለው ይጀምሩ፤ 'please' ማለትንም አይርሱ፤ ከዚያም የሳምን ምላሽ ያዳምጡ።
