በዛሬው ዝግጅታችን ሁለት ነገሮችን እንዴት ማነፃፀር እንደሚቻል እንማራለን።
ቀጣዮቹ ተናጋሪዎች ቤት ውስጥ መብላት 'eating in' ወይስ ከቤት ውጪ መብላት 'eating out' እንደሚመርጡ ያዳምጡ። ምን ያህሉ ሰዎች ቤት ውስጥ መብላት እንደሚሻላቸውና ምክንያታቸውን ለመገንዘብ ይሞክሩ።ንግግራቸውን ካልተረዱት አያስቡ።

I prefer eating in because it's healthier.
Eating in because it's cheaper!
Eating out is better, but it's more expensive.

እሺ፤ ስለዚህ ሁለት ሰዎች ቤት ውስጥ መብላት ይሻሉ፤ በምክንያቶቻቸው ይስማማሉ?

Yes, and there are some very simple rules to help you. So first let's look at adjectives with one syllable, like 'cheap'.

ምህረተስላሴ
'Cheap' ርካሽ ማለት ነው። በአንድ ፋታ የሚነበቡ ቅፅሎችን እንዴት ንፅፅራዊ ማድረግ እንደሚቻል ያስታውሳሉ? ቅፅሉ ላይ ምን ይጨመራል? ለማጣራት እንደገና ያዳምጡ።

Eating in because it's cheaper!

Ok, so we add the letters 'e-r' to a one-syllable adjective. So 'cheap' becomes 'cheaper'.

ይሄንን ከሌሎች ባለ አንድ ድምፅ ቅፅሎች ጋርም መጠቀም ይችላሉ። 'er'ን ይጨምሩ።

Sian
So cold becomes 'colder', and short becomes 'shorter'. Now let's look at 2-syllable adjectives that end with the letter 'y'. Like 'healthy'.

ምህረተስላሴ
'Healthy' ጤነኛ ማለት ነው። እንዴት የንፅፅር ቅፅል ሊያደርጉት እንደሚችሉ ያውቃሉ? ደግመን እናዳምጥ።

I prefer eating in because it's healthier.

So again we add 'er' but this time you have to check the spelling.

ሆሄያቱን ሲፅፉ መጠንቀቅ አለብዎት። 'y'ን እናጠፋ እና 'ier' እንጨምራለን። ስለዚህም የሚጻፈው እንደዚህ ይሆናል 'h-e-a-l-t-h-i-e-r'።

And we do this with other adjectives ending in 'y'. So pretty becomes 'prettier' – with 'i-e-r' at the end.
Now, can you remember what happens with other adjectives that are longer than one syllable – for example, 'expensive'? Let's listen again to check.

It's more expensive.

ስለዚህም ሁለት እና ከዚያ በላይ ድምፅ ያላቸው ወይም የድምፅ ፋታ የሚወስዱ ቅፅሎችን ንፅፅራዊ ለማድረግ ከቅፅሎቹ በፊት 'more' የተባለውን ቃል የምናስገባ ሲሆን የቅፅሉን ቅርፅ እንቀይረውም።

So 'interesting' becomes 'more interesting' and 'difficult' becomes 'more difficult'. Easy right? But careful because there are some exceptions!

ከሕጉ የወጡ 'exceptions' ቃላትም አሉ። ለምሳሌ አንድ ነገር የተሻለ ጥሩ ነው ለማለት ስንፈልግ 'gooder' አንልም አይደል? ምን እንደምንል ያስታውሳሉ?

Eating out is better.

So, if we want to say that something is 'more good' we say 'it's better'. And if we want to say that something is 'more bad', we use 'it's worse'. Let's practise those. Repeat after me:

አሁን መለማመጃ ሰዓት ነው።
በበይነ መረብ መማር 'studying online' እና ትምህርት ቤት መማር 'studying in class' የሚሉትን ያነጻጽሩ። በበይነ መረብ ላይ መማር 'studying online' ይቀላል የሚሉት እንዴት ነው? በኋላ ላይ ለማመሳከር ሺያን መልሱን ትሰጥዎታለች።
