ఇవాళ చాలా interesting topic. రెస్టారంట్స్‌లో ఒక్కోసారి అడిగిన పదార్థం బాలేకపోతేనో, లేదా ఆర్డర్ చేసింది తేవడానికి ఆలస్యమైతేనో ఫిర్యాదు చెయ్యాలనుకుంటాం కదా. ఇవాళ ఇంగ్లిష్‌లో complaint ఎలా చెయ్యాలో తెలుసుకుందాం. బ్రిటిష్ వారికి, మనకు ఉన్న ఒక సాంస్కృతిక వ్యత్యాసం ఏమిటంటే వాళ్లు ఏ రకమైన భావోద్వేగాలనూ ఎక్కువ బాహటంగా ప్రదర్శించరు. కోపం వచ్చినా, సంతోషం వచ్చినా ఒక మోతాదులోనే చూపెడతారు. వాళ్లు complaint చేసినా కూడా ఎక్కువ కోపం తెచ్చుకోకుండా చాలా మర్యాదగా చెప్తారు. మనం కొంచం దూకుడుగా దెబ్బాలడుతున్నట్టు చెప్పడమో లేదా మనకు కోపం వచ్చినదన్న విషయం తెలిసేట్టు గట్టిగా మాట్లాడడమో చేస్తాం. ఇవాళ వాళ్ల స్టైల్ లో మర్యాదగా మన్ననగా complaint ఎలా చెయ్యలో చూద్దాం.

Yes, definitely. The first person said 'Excuse me', which is very polite, and the third person said 'I'm sorry'.

The people complaining also said ‘I’d like to’, which is a very polite way to say what you want.

I want to. కన్నా 'I'd like to' అనేది ఎక్కువ మర్యాదపూర్వకమైన వాక్యం.

మ్మ్ ఆమెకి ఇచ్చిన చాకు మురికిగా ఉందిట. ఇంకోటివ్వండి అని అడుగుతున్నారు.

The customer asked a question using 'could'. Could is a polite way to make a request.

సౌమ్య

Oh dear! The customer had a problem with their bill! They were overcharged.

'Overcharged' - తిన్నదానికన్నా ఎక్కువ డబ్బులకి బిల్ ఇచ్చారు.

Could you cook my steak more? It's too pink in the middle.

I'm sorry, what seems to be the problem?

సౌమ్య
There's a hair in my soup! Could you get me another?

James
Certainly, I'm very sorry! I'll get that for you right away.

విన్నారు కదా! ఇప్పుడూ కొంచం ప్రాక్టీస్ చేద్దామా? మీకిచ్చిన చెమ్చా బాలేదు. మురికిగా ఉంది. ఇంకో చెమ్చా కావాలని అడగండి. తరువాత నేను జవాబు చెప్తాను. విని మీ జవాబును సరిపోల్చుకోండి.

ఇలాగే చెప్పారా? Well done!
ఒక్కోసారి సమస్య పెద్దదైతే, మేనేజర్ గానీ, వెయిటర్ గానీ ‘compensation’ ఇస్తారు అంటే మనం ఆర్డర్ చేసుకున్నదానికి బదులుగా మరోటి ఇవ్వడమో లేదా నష్టపరిహారం చెల్లించడమో చేస్తారు.

సౌమ్య
compensation ని కుదించి ‘comp’ అంటారు.. Dessert అంటే భోజనం తరువాత వడ్డించే తీపి పదార్థాలు లేదా పళ్లు.

Presenter 2
My apologies! I'll fix the problem and give you a voucher for your next visit.

సౌమ్య
'A voucher' అంటే రసీదు. మళ్లీ మీరొచ్చినప్పుడు వాడుకోవడానికి వీలుగా ఇప్పుడే రసీదు ఇస్తాను అని అన్నారు.
