ਅੱਜ ਆਪਾਂ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਸੰਦ ਜਾਂ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਰੁਚੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸੀਏ। ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ 'interests' ਯਾਨੀ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਰੁਚੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਸਾਰੀ ਗੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਮਝਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਮਦਦ ਕਰਾਂਗੇ ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇਹ ਦੇਖਣਾ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਜੁਆਬ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਸਮਾਨਤਾ ਹੈ? 

I'm interested in all types of art, but Ilike photography the most.

I'm very keen on sports! I really like anything with a ball.

I’m really into comics. Superhero comics are my favourite.

ਹਾਂ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਕਲਾ ਦਾ ਹਰ ਇੱਕ ਰੂਪ ਪਸੰਦ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਫੋਟੋਗ੍ਰਾਫ਼ੀ 'photography' ਕੁਝ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਪਸੰਦ ਹੈ, ਲੜਕੀ ਨੂੰ ਖੇਡਾਂ ਪਸੰਦ ਹਨ ਖ਼ਾਸਕਰਕੇ ਗੇਂਦ ਨਾਲ ਖੇਡੀਆਂ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਖੇਡਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੀਸਰੇ ਲੜਕੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਮਿਕ ਪੜ੍ਹਨਾ ਪਸੰਦ ਹੈ ਖ਼ਾਸਕਰਕੇ 'superhero comics'.

But how do we know that these are the things they like?

ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸਭ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਸੰਦ ਦੱਸਣ ਲਈ ਅਲੱਗ ਅਲੱਗ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਕ ਬਣਾਏ। ਚਲੋ ਪਹਿਲੇ ਦੋ ਵਾਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰ ਦੁਵਾਰਾ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਸਮਝਦੇ ਹਾਂ। 

I like photography.

I really like anything with a ball.

Easy, right? They both used the verb 'like'! And you can change 'like', so you can say 'I really like' something to make it stronger, for example.

Now let's listen to speaker one again. What does he say before 'all types of art'? 

I'm interested in all types of art.

ਉਸਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ 'I am interested in' ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਉਸ ਚੀਜ਼ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸਦੀ ਦਿਲਚਸਪੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ 'art'। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਰੁਚੀ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਨਾਂਵ ਲਗਾ ਲੈਣਾ।

Yes, 'interested' is an adjective, so we need to use the verb 'be' before it, and we use 'in' after it – always. Let's practise – repeat after me:

I'm interested in art.

You're interested in sports.                                                   

He's interested in comics.

Thank you, Sam. ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਅਸੀਂ ਸਪੋਰਟਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ। ਪਰ ਉਸਨੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ 'sports' ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ?

ਕੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਿਆ? ਹਾਂ ਉਸਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ 'keen on'. ਇਸ ਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਵੀ 'interested in' ਵਾਲਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸਣ ਹੈ ਇਸ ਲਈ 'be' ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਆਪਣੀ ਰੁਚੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਦੱਸਣ ਲਈ 'interested in' ਜਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਰ 'keen on' ਇੰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ।

ਇਸਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ'to be into' ਇਸ ਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਹੈ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਚੀਜ਼ ਵੱਲ ਵੱਧ ਧਿਆਨ ਦੇਣਾ। ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਸਨੇ 'really' ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ 'very' ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ, ਇਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਗੱਲ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਦਦ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਤੇ ਹੈ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਅਵਿਵਹਾਰਕ ਤਰੀਕਾ ਹੈ।

ਚਲੋ ਹੁਣ ਕੁਝ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ। ਸੁਚੋ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਪਸੰਦ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ 'interested' ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਵਾਕ ਬਣਾਓ। ਇਸੇ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨ ਦਾ ਜੁਆਬ ਸੈਮ ਵੀ ਦੇਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਕਿਹਾ ਚੈੱਕ ਕਰ ਸਕੋਗੇ।
