వీడుకోలు చెప్పడంలో వివిధ పద్ధతులను ఇవాళ నేర్చుకుందాం. బాగా తెలిసినవాళ్లకి ఒకలాగ, కొత్తగా పరిచయమైన వ్యక్తులకు మరోలాగ bye లేదా goodbye చెప్తుంటాం కదా. ఈ వ్యత్యాసాలన్ని ఇవాళ తెలుసుకుందాం. ముందుగా ఇక్కడ ముగ్గురు వ్యక్తులు ఎలా వీడుకోలు చెప్తున్నారో వినండి.

విన్నారా? మొదటి వ్యక్తి అప్పుడే తనకి పరిచయమైన మరో వ్యక్తికి వీడుకోలు చెప్పారు. So, Sam, shall we look at the language they used to say goodbye?

Sam 
Yes, so one very common way is to just use the word 'goodbye'. This can be used in formal and in informal situations. So the first person says 'goodbye', but then they follow it with another phrase. Can you remember? Let's listen again.

Sam'It was nice meeting you' – ‘మిమ్మల్ని కలవడం చాలా బావుంది’ అని చెప్పారు.

Yes, so you can use this phrase when you say goodbye to someone who you have just met for the first time. Let’s quickly practise that. Repeat after me: 

‘Goodbye.’

‘It was nice meeting you.’ 

You can also change this phrase if you are talking to someone you already know – in this case you can say 'it was nice seeing you'.

తరువాతి వ్యక్తి ఏమన్నారో గుర్తుందా? మళ్లీ విందాం.

Sam 
So she said 'bye' which is a common short form of 'goodbye' often used when you are talking to friends. She then says 'have a good weekend'. It's polite to say something like this after you say 'goodbye'. You can vary it in different ways, for example, 'have a lovely evening' or 'have a great holiday'. Let's quickly practise that. Repeat after me: 

‘Bye! Have a good weekend.’
‘Bye! Have a lovely evening.’

So ‘have a good weekend’, ‘have a good evening’ ఇలా ఏదైనా చెప్పొచ్చు. చివరి వ్యక్తి కొంచం భిన్నాంగా చెప్పారు. గుర్తుందా?

So instead of saying 'bye' you can say 'see you later'. There are lots of different variations of this, for example, 'see you tomorrow' 'see you soon' or you can just say 'see you', which is an informal way to say 'goodbye'. Let's practise that.

So 'goodbye' అనే బదులు 'see you!’ అనొచ్చు. 'I have to go now' అన్నారు కదా. ‘నేనింక వెళ్లాలి bye’ అని చెప్తే సడన్ గా bye చెప్పినట్టు ఉండదు.

Thanks, Sam. సరే, కొంచం ప్రాక్టీస్ చేద్దామా?  మీరు కొత్త జాబ్‌లో జాయిన్ అయ్యారు. మీ కలీగ్‌ని  ఇప్పుడే మొదటిసారి కలిసారు. తనకి bye చెప్పాలి. ఎలా చెప్తారు? మిమ్మల్ని కలవడం బావుంది అని కూడా చెప్పండి. తరువాత Sam జవాబు చెప్తారు. విని మీ జవాబు సరిచూసుకోండి.

Nice. ఇప్పుడు మీ బెస్ట్ ఫ్రెండ్ కి goodbye చెప్పాలి. తను సెలవులకి విహారయాత్రకెళుతోంది. ఎలా చెప్తారు? Lovely holiday అని వాడండి.

Bye! Have a lovely holiday.

Good. చివరిగా మీరు మీ నేస్తానికి చెప్పాలి. అయితే రేపు మళ్లీ తనని మీరు కలుస్తారు. అప్పుడెలా చెప్తారు?
