Junior Football NewsYou are in: Lancashire > Junior Football > Junior Football News > Foxhall stroll in the sunshine ![]() Foxhall stroll in the sunshineBy Mark Witter It was unlucky 13 for YMCA...but lucky for Foxhall. Having the luxury of a big squad it was time to rest Skipper Ollie C, Isaac Guy, John W, Chris W and Jordan W, also without the injured Ben D. On a beautiful day for football and probably the best playing surface around it was business as usual with Foxhall out of the traps first with some fantastic one touch football involving Mark S and James D who carved out an early chance for Joe H but was denied by the keeper. Constant pressure finally paid off when Mark S slipped a beauty of a pass to James D who then returned it to Mark S whose shot was blocked, with the rebound falling to Sam W who first time effort nestled nicely into the top corner. (0-1) Another mazy run by Fran D resulting him being tripped in the box from the resulting spot kick Mark S then sent the keeper the wrong way. (0-2) Minutes later he doubled his tally when firing in from close range. (0-3) YM did try and get to grip with the game but just found Foxhall too strong for them all over the pitch, with goalkeeper James G a pure spectator almost for the entire game. Richard J then got onto a perfect delivery from James D when he side footed in from close range, (0-4) Joe H was then thwarted with a double save from the keeper with the latter effort hitting the post. Tyler A got amongst the goals when he out muscled his opponent (must be the weight training he has doing lately) who then rounded the keeper to simply tap into a empty net. (0-5) More efforts from the majority of the team but couldn't add to their tally. HT 0-5. Half time saw Foxhall bring on all there substitutions and pretty much carried on where they left off, with James D going on a solo effort to slot past the advancing keeper. (0-6) Again it was backs to the wall for YM and went further behind when a YM player kicked out at Tyler with the referee having no hesitation in pointing to the spot, up stepped Tyler to wallop the resulting penalty into the roof of the net. (0-7) Then two more quick fire goals the first when Jordan W crossed with pace only to squirm under the keepers arms (0-8) and then Matty H who went on a run to unleash a cracker (cross shot) over the keeper (0-9). In between all this Foxhall past it around and made YM work tirelessly all afternoon with the threat of scoring at any particular time, then Joe H scored a hat-trick. His first was is own doing drifting past several players then turned back on himself to fire home in the bottom corner, his second was a peach of a ball from Isaac Guy over the top and he coolly slotted home and his third was a fine cross from the right from Jordan W and he solely obliged to score. Then after a seven man one touch pass and move Mark S cut inside to fire home the final goal and certainly the goal of the game. (0-13) Full-time: 0-13Summary:Credit to YM they never stopped and at times did make it difficult there centre half was prominent and worked hard till the end. ----The views expressed on this page are those of the contributor and the opinions expressed are not necessarily those of the BBC.last updated: 20/02/2008 at 15:29 Have Your SaySEE ALSOYou are in: Lancashire > Junior Football > Junior Football News > Foxhall stroll in the sunshine |
