With a swirling wind and rain looming it could have been a lottery but to Foxhall’s credit they got it down and played some excellent one touch football. It created numerous chances with Ben D, Matty H and Chris W all firing just wide. Again YMCA found it difficult to sustain the Foxhall onslaught and finally caved in with Chris W scoring with a back heel which had the YM keeper unaware. (0-1)

Moments later, Foxhall stretched their lead when the iceman Ben D coolly slotted home after some tight marking, he evaded his marker to steer home Foxhall’s second. (0-2)

YM to their credit was never going to score against such a solid back four of Witter, Guy, Nichols and Donaghy and they never - no matter how hard they tried.

The overall performance in the first half was adequate with plenty of plus points in awful conditions. James D was a perfect foe to all his team mates and was behind many of Foxhall raids. So was the enthusiastic Matty H who at times found himself in acres of space on the right and delivered some telling balls into the box.

Half time: 0-4

After a half time Bovril and a warm team talk, Foxhall started where they left off...on the attack. It was almost instant that Foxhall extended their lead when Joe H thundered a tremendous 30 yarder into the top corner - wind assisted. Joe said he meant it - ok Joe we believe you! (0-5)

Richard J a second half substitution was soon in the thick of things and it was he who supplied Ben D who raced on to slot past the advancing keeper. (0-6)

YM tried in vain to lift the dampened following that they have but unfortunately they could not give them anything to warm them up with .It was pretty much Foxhall from start to finish and on a better day I believe that they would of doubled their final tally. So another brace from Ben D with one sandwiched in between from Joe H put Foxhall into a 9-0 lead.

Craig B then scored the final goal after he waltzed past two defenders (one being his own) to clip over the stranded keeper. (0-10)

Foxhall were rampant throughout and should of increased their tally many times over. ,James G was a pure spectator and was only called upon on in sporadic moments. John W, Richard J and Craig B all made a instant impact when called upon. Foxhall then rotated their team by making changes every 5 minutes or so to keep the rhythm going.
