BJ - the league winners for the last three seasons - while Foxhall were Cup winners over BJ last season. Foxhall nearly scored within the first minute after a quick fire break down the left involving Ollie C, Mark S and the pacy Chris W who fired inches past the near post. Foxhall created the early chances with Ben D and Joe H both having shots saved. Foxhall finally opened the scoring on seven minutes when the quick feet of Chris W resulted in being tripped by a trailing BJ leg, up stepped Mark S to fire into the bottom corner.(1-0) The first fifteen minutes or so was pretty much one way traffic for Foxhall but with no end product to show for, then on 20 minutes Ben D ceased on to a mistake in the BJ defence to squirm the ball through the keepers legs.(2-0) BJ never laid down and on a couple of occasions nearly cut the deficit but was denied by keeper James G legs and then hacked away to safety. BJ lacked fire power at times as the rearguard of Foxhall was never really tested throughout the first half. Foxhall seemed to lose there way in what can only be described as Foxhall worst first half performance all season. HT 2-0 In football sometimes they say a team can score too early and I think that is what happened today. As Foxhall never got into their usual free flowing football that they are used to, but that is not down to just us playing badly, but to BJ who made more than a game of it as they wanted it more than us and it showed. While a lot of the play was involved in the middle of the park, BJ was unlucky not to score when a beauty of a shot looked to be going in to the top corner but shaved the bar to BJ's disbelief. Chances again fell to both sides with both keepers Foxhall’s Gazey and BJ’s Kyle T coping more than adequate with what was thrown at them. Just before the final whistle a bad injury to a BJ player (hope he is okay Pete) as the game fizzled out. FT 2-0 Summary:Like I said a bad day at the office for Foxhall, but they say in football when you play bad and still get three points it a sign of a good team. Just like to mention - Lee T, Ryan W and Jack S all caught the eye for the visitors. ----The views expressed on this page are those of the contributor and the opinions expressed are not necessarily those of the BBC.last updated: 12/02/2008 at 20:19 Have Your SaySEE ALSOYou are in: Lancashire > Junior Football > Junior Football News > Foxhall win clash of the Titans |
