Blackpool & District Youth League:![]() Under 14s Domino DivisionFoxhall seemed to be a little leg weary and found it difficult to get amongst it against a tough Spirit side. Any threat that Spirit caused was down to the hesitant Foxhall team which caused our own problems. However, it was Foxhall that created the best of the opening with Ben D firing just wide after 6mins, then Joe H had a great chance only to be foiled by the impressive keeper. Midfield battles arose and it was interesting to see Ollie C and Mark S earn their crust against a plucky Spirit midfield. Foxhall had the majority of play and possession throughout creating numerous chances in which Foxhall couldn't put away. Pretty much the same as the first half - it was Foxhall putting their opponents on the back foot with Jordan W (ex soy) raiding down the right giving his marker a torrid time all afternoon. Jordan carved out Foxhall's best chance after the re-start when he slipped the ball to Ben D who then fired a unstoppable effort only for the keeper to push away.
Isaac G and John W kept the lively Spirit attack quiet all day with an exceptional marshalled display in not allowing Spirit any clear opening on goal. Sam W again impressed down the right with some ferocious tackling and attacking play, linking up well with the impressive Jordan W a partnership that is maturing by the game. Ollie C had a couple of free kicks charged down after some excellent wing play from Chris W who was upended both times when he was clear through. Again further chances from Joe H and Ben D proved fruitless as the Spirit keeper coped admirably with both efforts. A talking point next when Ben D was put through only to be brought down in the box by the Spirit defender. Most thought it was a good tackle, the referee persisted and said he was right behind the incident and was caught on the ankle when bursting through. A penalty was the outcome and up stepped Mark S to coolly send the keeper the wrong way to put Foxhall in to a 2- 0 lead. Foxhall dominated throughout and had long spells of possession in which Spirit have no complaints about. Foxhall made several substitutions after the second with James D, Matty H, Richard J and Craig B along with Tyler A all slotting in well when coming on. Foxhall 2 Spirit Of Youth 0Summary:Credit to Spirit as their game plan worked putting many players behind the ball and stifling the free scoring attacking Foxhall team to limited chances, but eventually Foxhall did find away through and came away from a tricky tie with three points and another clean sheet. ----The views expressed on this page are those of the contributor and the opinions expressed are not necessarily those of the BBC.last updated: 23/10/07 Have Your SayWhat did you think about the game?
