Foxhall U14s pull out all the goals against Fleetwood Town...

Blackpool & District Youth League:

Foxhall JFC

Under 14s Domino Division

Having no league last week it was back to league action this week against a Fleetwood team who have won their last two games - one being against a much fancied South Shore team.

Foxhall have had a few doubts this week with Joe H, Ollie C sickness and Sam W with a heel problem. However, they all made the starting line up.

Foxhall drew first blood when ex-Fwd Gym starlet Ben D scored with an excellent overhead kick giving keeper Danny W no chance. (0-1)

"A little better from most but still not clicked just yet. "

Soon afterwards Ben D doubled his and Foxhall’s tally when he coolly finished past the helpless keeper.(0-2).

What a start for Foxhall! They totally dominated after that and looked like they where in for a bagful, may be it would have been but for the excellent goalkeeping heroics from Danny W.

Fleetwood on occasions did attack but it was about as often as a tram on a Sunday after midnight (never) so it was a case of doing what we do best, keep possession and hopefully the rest will come. Joe H increased Foxhall lead when he latched onto a perfect long throw from Ben D to Cooley slot past the keeper. (0-3)

Foxhall at times were good and at times where not so good in a sporadic type of performance in the first half. Joe H found it tough going and was replaced due to illness. James D took his place and alongside Ben D worked tirelessly for the cause all afternoon.

Some interesting tussles arose all afternoon and Isaac G with John W were exceptional and never put a foot wrong winning ALL the aerial battles that was thrown their way.

Halftime: 0-3

This is where managers and coaches earn their crust when they have to re-jig things about and in Foxhall’s case we had to lose Sam W and skipper Ollie C due to illness/injury respectively. But with the strong squad that Foxhall carr,y their replacements coped admirably with Joe N and Tyler A slotting in well as if they had been there from the start.

Foxhall where slow out of the traps second half and allowed Fleetwood to get more into the game with Ryan M going the closest with a well taken freekick. Mark S had an inspirational game in the centre and was in the thick of it in both halves creating several openings for the Foxhall strike force. Jordan W was also exceptional - he gets better and better by the game. It was Jordan W that slipped a beauty of a pass to another patient substitute Richard J when he made no mistake from 10yards. (0-4)

Foxhall keeper James G made two excellent saves from Fleetwood midfielder Ryan M but they was from long range which gave him half a chance.

Craig B made an excellent run down the left and he fired over an inch perfect ball to Ben D making the keeper save, from the resulting corner a quick one from Chris W finding the alert Joe N who crossed to Richard James who flicked in his second and Foxhall's fifth. (0-5)

As the game fizzled out Foxhall had further chances which they squandered otherwise on another day would probably hit double figures.

Full Time: Fleetwood Town Jnrs 0-Foxhall 5

Summary:

Foxhall had the perfect start which killed Fleetwood off. We lost our shape when we was forced to make changes but credit to the lads that came on they took their chances and did well. Foxhall were never really troubled by a non existent strike force till sub goalie David R was introduced up front and did really well causing a few problems in the Foxhall rearguard.

another fleetwood codhead
I myself from Fleetwood but my son plays for another team am quite surprised that both teams have NOT been praised it is not just winning but is the taking part and enjoying the game you should be focusing on, afterall it is kids football we are talking about.

Fleetwood Cod Head
I must have watched another game as Fleetwood Town U-14s were unlucky not to have scored at least 3 themselves and even the referee commented that they had the best of the second half. The main difference was the two ex Fleetwood Town (centre forward and Centre half) who jumped trams to Foxhall in the summer. Dream on - glory hunters.
