Match ReportsYou are in: Lancashire > Junior Football > Match Reports > Bad day at the office Bad day at the officeBy Mark Witter Kirkham held Foxhall to a 3-3 draw... Blackpool & District Youth League:![]() Under 14s Domino DivisionFoxhall early on was as bright as the winter’s sun and as we all know it suddenly disappears as did our performance! As the game went on, Foxhall caused a few problems down both flanks with Jordan W and Chris W supplying the crosses for Ben D and Joe H who both had efforts saved by the impressive Kirkham keeper. It was the home side that swept into a two goal lead when Foxhall normally reliable defence had a crazy ten minutes to let Kirkham go unchallenged twice - and put our unbeaten season in jeopardy.(2-0) This setback spurred Foxhall on and within five minutes Joe H pulled one back with a fantastic header from a peach of a cross from Jordan W which was supplied by Ben D down the right. (2-1) In an enthralling first half there should have been more goals from both sides but that wasn't the case as Foxhall limped to the half time whistle in shock. Half time: 2-1Again it was Foxhall on the attack and nearly equalised when Chris W supplied a fantastic cross to the far post but Ben D was denied by the keeper. Kirkham's answer to Foxhall passing was a long throw which will cause teams problems all season - something that Foxhall found difficult to cope with. Ollie C and Mark S worked tirelessly all afternoon to try and steer the Foxhall team into a lead and eventually it came when a ball was played into the box. Joe H was first to pounce but denied by the keeper and the rebound found Ben D who lifted the ball over the keeper into the net. (2-3) Shortly after Fran D let rip from outside of the box which the keeper had to make a fingertip save to prevent Foxhall extending there lead. John W was the pick of the defence with some excellent tackling throughout and never say die attitude. With minutes remaining Foxhall made a triple substitution but still could not stop Kirkham taking a share of the spoils. Foxhall's hesitance proved costly allowing the long kick out from the goalie to bounce allowing their striker to steer home with ease. (3-3) Full time: 3-3Summary:Not Foxhall’s best performance by far but still had enough to put this game to bed and probably should of. But give credit where credit is due - Kirkham battled throughout and had chances to put themselves into a good lead. However, it was Foxhall who totally dominated the play but found it difficult to kill off such a stubborn Kirkham team. Hopefully this will be a wake up call to the squad starting next week in the LFA Cup. ----The views expressed on this page are those of the contributor and the opinions expressed are not necessarily those of the BBC.last updated: 30/10/07 Have Your SayWhat did you think about the game?
