Place Names
The learner can explore Place Names to learn vocabulary for planets, continents, the countries of Europe and the counties of Ireland. The learner can click the graphics which light up to play the audio and display the text. There are four stages to the poster:
•Solar system
•Continents
•Western Europe
•Irish counties
The Solar system includes vocabulary for planets, stars, sun, moon, comet and Earth. The learner can listen to the audio files to learn how to say the words in Irish.
The Continents stage displays a flat map of the world. The learner can click the continents to listen to the Irish version.
The Europe stage gives vocabulary to some of the countries of Europe, including Portugal, Spain, France and Poland. The learner can click the map to play the audio files.
In the Irish counties stage, the learner can explore the Irish names for the counties of Ireland.
