Spurs' Darren Bent is pleased with the arrival of Redknapp

For much of the season they have languished 失去活力 in bottom place of the Premier League table, failing to win a single game in their first eight matches.

So, what has changed?

According to Spurs striker Darren Bent, Redknapp has lifted morale 志气大涨 by giving his players a new sense of self-belief 自信.

"He has made us believe that we're good players and that we shouldn't be where we are, whereas with Juande and the Spanish, it was a bit hard."

By this, Bent means that Ramos's lack of English was a big factor in Tottenham's problems before.

Bent added that this rise in morale has given players a "new lease of life". To say someone has a new lease of life is to say that they have a new energy and new desire to do things.

New manager Redknapp was pleased with the result, but he admitted luck is still an important factor in football.

He said that his team "rode their luck" against Liverpool, meaning that they relied on luck to avoid failure. Indeed, it took an own goal from Liverpool’s Jamie Carragher and a late winner from Roman Pavlyuchenko to hand victory to Spurs 把胜利拱手相送给热刺.

Redknapp will now be hoping to build on his good start at Spurs and move up the table.

For Liverpool, this was their first defeat of the season and they are now second in the table behind Chelsea, who thrashed 重创 Sunderland 5-0. Manchester United moved into third, after overcoming a spirited 精神饱满的 Hull side 4-3.
