By entering and participating in BBC Asian Network Unsung, entrant(s) agree to be bound by these rules. Please read carefully and ensure your entry complies with the following points.
This competition is open to UK residents only. Overseas entries will not be considered.
Minimum age for entrants is 16 years old. Entrant(s) under 18 years old must include a signature from a parent or guardian to take part in the competition.
Entrant(s) may either be a solo project, band or group.
Only one entry will be accepted per person / group.
Entrant(s) must not be signed to any recording label.
Entrant(s) must not be signed to any management deal.
You agree (for yourself and on behalf of any other performers entering the competition with you) that BBC shall be entitled to use your entry for the shortlisting and judging of the BBC Asian Network Unsung 2005 competition. Shortlisted finalists and any further usage will be contracted in accordance with the BBC's usual practices.
Entrant(s) sending in material should provide an audio recording of one track on either CD, minidisc or cassette. No entry will be returned and shall become property of the BBC. It is therefore advisable for all entrants to retain a copy. Recordings need not be professionally produced or of broadcast standard. The BBC will not contribute to the cost of making entrants' recordings.
Entrant(s) must obtain the permission of all contributors to their recording for its use in connection with this competition.
Entrant(s) must provide the BBC with a name and a daytime telephone number clearly marked on any recording entered into this competition. The BBC will only ever use the entrant(s) personal details for the purposes of administering this competition, and will not publish them or provide them to anyone without the entrant(s) permission. Entrant(s) must supply a completed and signed entry form available from our website, bbc.co.uk/asiannetwork, and comply with all rules to be eligible for the prize(s). No responsibility is accepted for ineligible entries or entries made fraudulently.
Entrant(s) will be deemed to have accepted these rules and to agree to be bound by them when entering this competition. In addition entrant(s) accept that they have also read and understood the Tips for Entry for the competition.
The deadline for receiving entries for the competition is February 28th 2005.
All decisions by The BBC Asian Network Unsung Judging Panel are final for both shortlisting and at the final showcase. No correspondence will be entered into.
If selected as a finalist, it is the entrant(s) responsibility to be available for any rehearsals, workshops and the final performance which forms part of the prize. The BBC will help with reasonable travel arrangements, although responsibility for being at the venue at the specified time remains that of the entrant(s).
The prize(s) must be taken as stated and cannot be deferred. There will be no cash alternatives.
The BBC does not accept any responsibility for late or lost entries due to the Internet or postal service. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.
This competition is not open to employees or contractors of the BBC or its subsidiaries, any person directly or indirectly involved in the BBC or the running of the competition, or their direct family members.
The BBC reserves the right to cancel this competition at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, and if circumstances arise outside of its control.
These rules are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
