Asian Network Unsung

How to enter

To enter you must be aged 16 or over, and yet to break into the British Asian music industry. Entrants must not be signed to an existing management or record deal. To judge each entry we need an audio recording of a music performance submitted on either CD, minidisc or cassette. You can enter as a solo artist or a group, and your performance can be from any genre.

Judges will be looking for a performance that is felt would do particularly well in the British Asian music industry, and could have mainstream appeal.

Your performance can be a cover version of an existing track, or an original work, as outlined in Tips for Entry. If you are entering as an MC then a performance of original and creative lyrics would be preferred to a performance of existing lyrics. You should also take care to ensure that lyrics are not gratuitously offensive or derogatory.

You must read the entry rules and complete and sign the entry form on the BBC Asian Network website and include it with your entry. The entry form is a PDF BBC text document which can only be viewed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Down load it free from adobe.com

Send in your final entry before February 28th 2005, to:

UNSUNG 2005,
BBC Asian Network,
The Mailbox,
Birmingham,
B1 1RF

Please ensure that any recordings you send are clearly marked with your name and a contact telephone number. Unfortunately we will be unable to return any entry materials sent to us, so please only send copies of any original work.
