Jack Vettriano

Jack Vettriano first came into public prominence after the 1988 Royal Scottish Academy open exhibition. A self taught artist, he has since painted full time and had huge international success. The Singing Butler, his most iconic image, sold for £740,000 at Sotheby's in April 2004, a record for a painting by a Scottish artist.
Vettriano's work has a vast public following through the licensing and distribution of his images. He has sold more than three million posters and cards worldwide. His work is adored and reviled in equal measures and he was the subject of a South Bank Show documentary entitled The People's Painter in 2004.
