Motorists in the Potteries could face delays and diversions with the closure of a main road from Saturday evening. The southbound A500 through part of Stoke-on-Trent is closing for 36 hours. The work should be finished in time for the Monday morning rush hour.
It will be shut between City Road and the A50 as workmen put in slip roads.
The �40m A500 Stoke Pathfinder improvement scheme aims to reduce congestion and boost economic regeneration in the area.
