Drivers on the A500 in Stoke-on-Trent may face delays over the next two months because of resurfacing work on a three-and-a-half mile stretch. The road between the A34 at Talke and Junction 16 of the M6 is being improved to reduce road noise.
The work will be done at off-peak times including overnight, when one lane in each direction will be closed.
A 40mph (64km/h) speed limit will be in place and drivers are being warned that slip roads will be closed at times.
The barriers on the central reservation are also being replaced as part of the work.
