The northbound carriageway between Talke and junction 16 of the M6 will be closed for road works from 2000 BST Friday until 0600 BST on Monday.

There will be a single lane contraflow on the southbound carriageway.

The slip road at Talke to the A500 and two slip roads at Alsager will also be closed during the works which have been in place for just over a year.

Work is being carried out on the A500 in a major �40m road improvement scheme. The road joins junctions 15 and 16 of the M6 in a D-shape via Stoke-on-Trent.

There are also improvements being carried out on Stoke Road and City Road which are due to end next summer.
