End of road for city roundabout
The Stoke Road roundabout on the A500 in Stoke-on-Trent is being removed, the Highways Agency says.

In a carefully planned operation, the roundabout and lights will be removed on Thursday to make way for a new traffic light-controlled crossroads.

Drivers are being warned to avoid the junction from 0900 BST with traffic on the roads leading into the junction down to a single lane in the afternoon.

It is hoped two lanes will be open again by 1700 BST.

The A500 is being improved as part of a 40m Pathfinder Project to ease congestion.
