UNDER 9’S BLUE DIVISION

Trowbridge maintained their unbeaten run despite going a goal behind for the first time this season. Devizes scored with their first attack five minutes into the first half. Trowbridge players then showed the sort of character that has kept them at the top of the table all season, the equaliser came when a great through ball by Mathew Morris was converted by Bradley Neate after fifteen minutes. Trowbridge then took the lead through Liam Naylor's close range effort and ended the half 3 -1 up when Joe Blais tapped in the third from a corner. The second half continued with Trowbridge piling the pressure on the Devizes goal only to be denied by some fine keeping by the Devizes goalkeeper, eventually they were rewarded with a fourth goal scored by Morris who beat the keeper from just outside the box. Devizes nearly grabbed a second when a free kick was eventually scrambled clear.
AFC Corsham Jaguars and FC Chippenham Youth played a very close first half with both sides playing well. Corsham dominated the second half and with ten minutes remaining Liam Merret came on. He ran through the middle of the pitch and blasted the ball into the goal. Final score 1-0 to Corsham.

UNDER 9’S RED DIVISION

Melksham Town Youth strengthened their position at the top of the red division with an emphatic win over hosts Warminster Highbury. Liam Harris, Alfie Kilgour, Jack Clayton and Joe Read all contributed with a goal each. James Pritchard once again pulled off a stunning save mid way through the second half to help keep yet another clean sheet with a 7-0 final result.

It was ten minutes into the first half before Worton & Cheverell broke the deadlock against a stubborn FC Chippenham defence. Harry Waylen opened the scoring with further goals coming in quick succession from Ben Marshall, Elliot Bodman and a second Waylen. Liam Cutler also opened his scoring account for this season by slotting in from an Elliot Bodman cross taking the score line to 5-0 at the interval. The second half saw the Chippenham’s defence as resillient as the first half and Worton struggled to increase their goal tally.
