Today will be largely cloudy with a few spells of patchy rain, mainly to the south and west. Drier with some brighter glimpses north and east. Turning very windy and gusty with heavy rain by evening.

Tonight

Very windy tonight with gales along the west coast. There will be frequent heavy rain and downpours through the night which will turn to sleet and snow over the hills.

Wednesday

Gale force south-westerly winds will prevail tomorrow, especially on the coast, bringing scattered heavy showers for much of the day. These will turn wintry over the hills. Heavy downpours by evening.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday

Thursday will be an unsettled day, with windy conditions, variable cloud and blustery heavy showers moving in from the west through the day. These will fall in form of snow on the high ground. Friday is set to remain similarly, with showers moving in from the west but lighter than on Thursday. Another windy day. Saturday will start drier with spells of rain later on.
