  1. In your life.
Make fitness part of your life. See it as part of your day/week/month. It does get easier and you realise it's good to do!

  2. The plan.
Set yourself a target with times and days to go to the gym.and stick to it! If you have a plan, it's so much easier to stay focused.

  3. Fun.
Visit a gym with a friend or family and make it fun. You can socialise and do yourself good!

  4. Other ways.
Remember all activities don't happen in a gym! Walk at lunchtime outside your place of work or use the kids' skipping rope in the garden.

  5. Feel the benefits.
Set individual goals and have something to work towards. Make the goals realistic - you need to see the changes and feel the benefits.

  6. Variety.
Vary what you do to keep your interest and motivation. Ask friends about their ways of exercising. It's always good to have a change.

  7. Work to your strengths.
If an exercise isn't keeping you motivated - try something else!

  8. Get confident.
You'll be surprised how many people feel just like you about their size and shape. Don't feel intimidated - think how good you'll feel by making the effort! As you gain confidence, you'll feel so much better. Everyone's got to start somewhere.

  9. Take your time.
Build up your programme gradually and you'll do it properly.

  10. Enjoy yourself!
