Description

Shaun Jones from Pontypridd, South Wales died 12 hours after taking tablets for acne. The 14 year old who'd been to see his doctor about spots on his back and shoulders was given a prescription for a drug, but was given different tablets as the ones prescribed were out of stock. The coroner who looked into Shaun's death said he died as a result of medical complications and that the case was "beyond" one in a million. She said his reaction seemed to be "random and pretty much unique." It's thought to be the only ever case of a fatal reaction to the tablet. Dr Stuart Flanagan told Revealed that anyone taking drugs for acne shouldn't worry and to see their own doctor if they had any concerns. He suggests every time you start a new prescription for any drug to read through the information leaflet that comes in the packaging.
