Events between 1994-2003
• The run up to the new millennium saw the exuberant opening ceremony of the channel tunnel, connecting England to France by train

• In a disastrous car crash in a Paris underpass, Diana Princess of Wales and Dodi Al Fayed were killed prompting mass mourning by the British public in 1997

• The turn of the Millennium surpassed without a global meltdown but with the construction of the Millennium Dome on the banks of the Thames

• At the majestic age of 102 the Queen Mother died in 2002 followed by a grand funeral parade

• An attack on the World Trade Centre took place on September 11th 2001
