Events between 1904-1913
• A period of great change following the turn of a new century and the death of Queen Victoria.

• Edward VII takes to the throne and is succeeded by King George V in 1911. The Titanic sinks in the North Atlantic in 1912.

• Locally, the Potteries first cinema is opened in 1909, by George Barber (later to become Lord Mayor).

• In 1910, the City of Stoke-on-Trent is formed from the six towns of Burslem, Fenton, Hanley, Longton, Stoke and Tunstall
