Fermanagh fall to Kerry
Fermanagh's Raymond Gallagher ended on the losing side at Portlaoise
Raymond Gallagher scored the opening point

Kerry 2-15 Fermanagh 0-4

Fermanagh crashed out of the All Ireland championship at Portlaoise on Saturday.

The Ernesiders actually got the first point on the board through Raymond Gallagher.

But Kerry hit back to score quick goals through Liam Hassett and Colm Cooper.

The Kingdom maintained the pressure and established a nine-point advantage by half-time.

'No way back'

It was a big disappointment for Fermanagh manager Dominic Corrigan but he ended any speculation about his immediate future by confirming he would be staying in charge.

"We got off to a bad start, conceding two goals in the first five minutes," said Corrigan.

"It knocked the stuffing out of us and really there was no way back.

"After losing to Armagh the players responded well and came back to beat Westmeath.

"But Kerry were a step up in class.

"However, we can learn from this.

"Our side is still a fairly young one and if we keep working I believe there will be better days ahead for Fermanagh."

Kerry scorers: D O'Cinneide (0-6), C Cooper (1-2), L Hassett (1-0), S O'Sullivan, E Brosnan (0-2 each), J Crowley, R O'Connor, M F Russell (0-1 each).

Fermanagh scorers: Rory Gallagher, Ray- mond Gallagher (0-2 each).
