Salute Armagh's All-Ireland victory
Joe Kernan lets all the emotion out in the seconds after Armagh's amazing win
Armagh beat Kerry in the 115th All-Ireland Football final at Croke Park to win their first championship title.

Send your reactions to a thrilling final.

Armagh overcame hot favourites Kerry in the All-Ireland final at Croke Park in dramatic style.

Kerry had led until the 54th minute, but then Oisin McConville smashed in a near-post goal to bring Armagh back into the contest.

Kerry's Ronan Clarke landed his third point of the final four minutes later to make it honours even once more.

But then Stephen McDonnell sent over his third point of the match eight minutes from time to make it Armagh 1-12 Kerry 0-14, sealing Armagh's All-Ireland triumph.

Send your congratulations to Joe Kernan and the team.

Congrats, this ones for you, mam.
Aggie, Tyrone/Perth, Australia

A display of true guts, character, determination and skill (yes, SKILL, Pat Spillane). Well done to Joe and the boys, you have put pride back into Armagh football and given the county what is always craved most. Be proud and come back next year as good as ever. Armaghforsam 2003.
Martin, England

Armagh, you are magnificent...you have the congratulations of every ex-patriot from the Orchard County all over the globe. On the big day, or early Monday morning in Sydney, you had grown men in tears...tears of joy, to at last see our native county win the coveted Sam Maguire.

This day will be long remembered and cherished. Simply put, you are the CHAMPIONS OF IRELAND. We are all so proud of your success. Joe Kernan, we have an auld team out here called Young Ireland's, it's not going too well...maybe you'd come out and give us a bit of a boost!

And feel free to bring that auld wooden plaque you bounced off the shower wall...it must have magical powers!! No one else could have done it Joe, well done.
Malachy Hughes, Australia

Congratulations to Armagh on their first Sam Maguire, they totally deserved their victory
Gerry Rooney, Down

Well done lads! Amazing day! I will never forget the feeling and the scenes at full-time!
Conor, Armagh

Reflection on the All-Ireland Football Final 2002:

Forget Finn McCumhaill, forget Cuchulainn, forget Oisin (not McConville), forget the Red Branch Knights, Forget Na Fianna, forget all the Celtic heroes.

On Sunday last, the gods descended from mount Olympus, donned Armagh shirts and bestrode the open spaces of Croke Park like colossi.

The kings, princes, chieftans and earls of the Kingdom were powerless to prevail against the inevitable outcome of this mighty confrontation. There could only be one outcome. With Joe "Zeus" Kernan manufacturing thunderbolts to be hurled by his fellow deities, the efforts of the warriors from the South West were destined to be in vain.

When the Bards of Armagh come to pen their praises of the Armagh team, let then not speak of "the boys from the Co. Armagh", not even "the men from the Co. Armagh". Let them speak of the "Gods from the Co. Armagh".
Orchard Exile, Cork, Ireland

Congratulations to Armagh on their first Sam Maguire. Armagh totally deserved their victory. Kerry played as if they were afraid to win the game. But Armagh were never afraid to lose it. And in the second half Armagh freed themselves of the shackles that had curtailed them most of the year.
Gerry Rooney, Down

If you believe you'll never lose!! We believed you could do it all along... Sunday last was THE most exciting, nervous and tense day of my life. Cheers!
R McKenna, Armagh

Congratulations to each and every one of you...what a fantastic day for Armagh
Mary Cassidy, USA, ex-Lurgan

I am a Monaghan supporter living in New York, and I never was as happy as the day "The Sam" came back to Ulster. Congratulations Armagh.
Enda B, America

A brilliant match watched in a pub in London. Very proud of the Armagh team. I'm in Armagh in spirit. Up Armagh!!
Ann Lucas, London via Armagh

I wish I were there to join in your celebrations, but I'm celebrating here in Connecticut, USA. Congratulations to each and every one of you...what a fantastic day for Armagh! Enjoy your success.
Mary Cassidy, (nee McConville), USA, ex-Lurgan!

I love Conleth Moran and all the Derry Minors!!! Well done, lads.
Aileen Laverty, Co. Derry

Congratulations to Armagh and Derry on a great double on Sunday. Whatever will Pat Spillane et al have to say now about 'Ulster football'? YOU'RE SIMPLY THE BEST!
Chicago Wolfe Tones GFC, USA

I just want to say 'well done lads'!
Kyla, N Ireland

What can I say? A great result by a great team. Not the most attractive style of play, but one of sheer hunger and determination. 31 of the 32 counties were shouting for ye last Sunday, especially all here in Cork. There's nothing better than seeing Kerry getting beaten.

Thanks for showing us that it still can be done if you keep at it
Grog Gilheany, Valdez

Well done, and here's to meeting ye in the final next September. Hill 16, a sea of orange and red...
Mick, Cork, Ireland

Well done to Armagh, but you will have to work hard to retain your title.
Damian, N Ireland

Well done Armagh, this is great for all the Counties that never got a chance to lift Sam, like my own Wicklow. Thanks for showing us that it still can be done if you keep at it. Enjoy the rewards of hard work.
Grog Gilheany, Valdez, USA/ Wicklow

What a game. Watching it in, of all places, the Croatian Cultural Centre in Vancouver with a bunch of Wexford farmers who are here on holiday was incredible. The atmosphere came out of the screen. Great to see a fellow Killeavy man get the winning point but they were all heroes.
Patrick Downey, Canada

Armagh just had to go and win an All-Ireland just as I leave the county. Great result, well done!
Brian McCoy, Pittsburgh, USA

I wish I was home to see the celebrations when SAM comes home to Armagh. It's been a long time coming. I've never jumped as much in my life. I cannot remember a team with the mental toughness of the Armagh Champions.
Shaun Donnelly, Armagh City

I am a Tyrone supporter and presently working in Taiwan. You and your team have done Ulster proud. Well done! I will be home at Xmas and they will be still talking about that great win.
Gerald Monaghan, Tyrone

The heart and commitment given through the Championship campaign was nothing short of glorious
Will Downing, Ireland
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant Armagh. You swept aside not just the great Kerry but 120 years of history into the bargain. We in Dublin salute you and send our sincere congratulations. Enjoy!
Kevin, Castleknock, Dublin, Ireland

Absolutely brillant result. This has been a long time coming to put the misery of '77 behind those who remember that day. Up Armagh
Darren Connor, New Zealand

What a day for football! Armagh were tenacious all the way, and never let their heads drop, even when they went five points down. The heart and commitment given through the Championship campaign was nothing short of glorious.

But for me, what made the day was that incredible view of over 30,000 Armagh fans swarming the pitch after the game - just as it should be. If only every day was like this!
Will Downing, near Croke Park, Ireland

Armagh have a habit of snatching victories from the established favourites. As a Dublin supporter I was disgusted at the way they went out to Armagh in the semi-final. However, seeing Armagh send Kerry and know-it-all Pat Spillane back to the "kingdom" empty-handed was an absolute delight.

All the years they've been giving Dublin shhtick. The Three Castles are a young side and will come back strong. There won't be enough apples in Armagh to stop the Dubs next year.
Uncle Argyle, Ireland

Absolutely brilliant, champions at last! Sorry I couldn't be at home to soak up the atmosphere.
Eamonn, Co. Armagh/ Hong Kong

Ulster is back with a vengeance!
James Hasson, Derry, N.Ireland

Congratulations Armagh. I am from the Orchard county and wasn't brought up in the GAA sporting tradition. But today I cheered you along and celebrated your victory, all the way from Vancouver. Well done boys.
Des Lyttle, Canada

Many Congratulations to the Armagh team - unfortunately we could only listen to the game as we are in Durban, South Africa working. Congratulations once again!
Adrian Maney, Co Armagh

Well done Armagh, it's wonderful to have Sam up-north again. The Armagh fans have been a tribute to the county. Now, with the success of Derry minors and Armagh, Ulster is back with a vengeance!
James Hasson, Derry, N.Ireland

Joe Kernan for man of the match! Whatever he said at half time won the game for Armagh, party on!! PS. Hope we're singing in Killyclogher next weekend!!
Colin, Omagh, Ireland

Colin, Omagh, Ireland

Congrats Raymond and your cronies! We're even managing to toast your All-Ireland here in Hong Kong. Well done.
Martin

On this historic day for the Armagh Gaelic football team, may I congratulate the great Armagh team for the display they served up against Kerry, you fully deserved it, lads. Enjoy the celebrations, which I know you will.
Joe Fahy, County Galway

We are the champions, and we will be back for many years to come!
Laura Boyle

A GREAT result, and a WONDERFUL job, well done! We are so happy here in Baltimore, two Cups going north.
Seamus Fogarty, Baltimore, MD

Well done Armagh, the pride of Ulster. You showed guts and made all the wiseguys eat their words.
Michael Crudden, Ireland

I knew this was the year to do it, Armagh - Joe Kernan was the man to take us there. Well done.
Kieran Fox, N. Ireland

We are the champions, and we will be back for many years to come! Well done Armagh.
Laura Boyle

Today can be summed up in three words: "Ard Macha ab".
Morgy

Great to hear Spillane and O'Rourke eat their words. Up Armagh!
Damian Duffy, Keady, Northern Ireland

Fair play to Armagh, great stuff, even though it was yous that put us out!! From Spud (the best barmen in Enniskillen!)
Garry 'Spud' Murphy, Fermanagh

Congratulations to Armagh, at last the Orchard County captured SAM MAGUIRE! All Ulster counties salute you.
Billly Gray

Although I am a "blue" man I say congratulations to the "orange" men of Armagh. Well done Armagh. A truly deserved victory. A pleasure to watch on BBC.
A Linfield fan, N. Ireland

Congratulations to Armagh, and I hope they do as well in every match as they did today.
Edward Mc Clenaghan, Ireland
