Kidderminster kept alive their play-off hopes with a well deserved 2-0 victory over fellow promotion contenders Torquay.

On-loan John Melligan fired the home side ahead with a precise shot over keeper Kevin Dearden from 25 yards after 20 minutes.

The goal was Melligan's ninth in Harriers colours and he looked on course for a second when he ran on to Adie Smith's pass, but Dearden pushed out his close-range effort.

Torquay stepped up the pace in the second half and a long-range shot by Jason Fowler was only narrowly wide.

But Harriers went two up after 69 minutes when Bo Henriksen curled in his 14th goal of the season after Drewe Broughton had headed the ball down.
