Bristol City 2-2 Crewe

Bristol City substitute Lee Peacock shot an 84th-minute equaliser to ensure a draw with Crewe in a thrilling game.

Crewe looked to be in control when Steve Foster's deflected header gave them a 30th-minute lead and five minutes later Rob Hulse shot the second after David Vaughan's long-range effort had been saved.

But City would not lie down and Scott Murray scored his 15th goal of the season from a Brian Tinnion through ball three minutes after the break.

There were chances at both ends in a frantic finish, but Peacock's was the one that counted as he netted from 10 yards.

Man-of-the-match Tinnion had hit a post after 12 minutes and headed narrowly wide in the 26th minute but Crewe also created plenty of scoring opportunities.

In the dying minutes City goalkeeper Steve Phillips had to make a fine double save from Crewe substitute Neil Sorvel to stretch his side's unbeaten run to 12 games.

Bristol City: Phillips, Coles, Butler, Hill, Murray, Burnell, Doherty, Tinnion, Bell, Roberts, Beadle. Subs: Peacock, Aaron Brown, Rosenior, Lita, Foster.

Crewe: Ince, Wright, Walton, Foster, Tierney, Jack, Lunt, Brammer, Vaughan, Hulse, Ashton. Subs: Bankole, Walker, Sorvel, Sodje, Jones.

Referee: P Crossley (Kent)
