Leicester 0-1 Burnley

Ian Moore's solitary strike extended Burnley's unbeaten run to 11 games and ended Leicester's perfect home record.

Micky Adams' side missed a host of chances and were made to pay as Moore headed home in the 52nd minute winner.

Leicester's first chance arrived after just 26 seconds.

Callum Davidson's pass found Paul Dickov who cushioned a header into the path of Brian Deane, but the striker sent a volley inches wide.

On 12 minutes Jamie Scowcroft also went close with a header in the 12th minute.

Moments later Frank Sinclair forced goalkeeper Marlon Beresford to back-pedal with a dipping shot moments later.

The Burnley goalkeeper also did well to deny Dickov and Scowcroft in quick succession.

Burnley responded with a speculative strike from Robbie Blake just after the half-hour mark.

The early tempo of the game dropped as half-time approached, with Gerry Taggart joining Dickov and Steve Davis in the referee's notebook following a heavy challenge on Moore.

The Northern Ireland international then spurned the chance to give City the lead in injury-time from Stefan Oakes' corner as he headed over from close range.

Dickov had the ball in the net shortly after the restart, only for the referee to rule it out, and two minutes later they found themselves behind.

Lee Briscoe saw his corner blocked, but the ball came back to the midfielder and his header back across the area found Moore who nodded home his third of the season.

Dickov was unlucky not to score in the 64th minute with a close-range effort that was caught by Beresford.

Gareth Taylor also came agonisingly close to a second goal in the 74th minute but Ian Walker superbly parried his effort to safety.

Stan Ternent's side were in control as the time ticked away, and Briscoe almost secured the points with a fierce drive.
