Leigh substitute Ged Courtney grabbed a late winner to end Woking's battling resistance at Hilton Park.

Courtney tapped the ball home from close range with seven minutes remaining to give Leigh back-to-back wins.

The home team had the first chance of a scrappy game but Dino Maamria could only steer Daniel Bent's cross wide of keeper Shwan Jalal's right-hand post.

The hosts' dogged defending restricted Woking to long-range efforts, Ian Hamilton and Warren Patmore trying their luck from all of 35 yards.

Woking suffered a blow five minutes before the interval when the influential Patmore hobbled off to be replaced by Nicky Banger.

Jalal then ensured his side went into the break on level terms with a fine save from Maamria's 20-yard piledriver.

Leigh, who ended a seven-game losing streak with victory at Burton last week, started the second half at pace and Phil Salt should have broken the deadlock with a header which flew agonisingly wide.

Salt then rattled the woodwork from 35-yards.

Courtney scuffed a gilt-edged chance shortly after coming on for Daniel Bent but made amends moments later to secure three valuable points for Leigh.
