Nuneaton 1-1 Yeovil

Yeovil dropped two points in a game they should have won as relegation-threatened Nuneaton held on for a valuable draw against the Conference leaders.

The Glovers controlled much of the game and looked likely to claim an eighth away victory of the season after taking the lead in the 12th minute.

Michael McIndoe delivered a high-quality ball from the left wing and Andy Lindegaard rushed in to hammer a header past goalkeeper Chris MacKenzie.

Nuneaton's problems deepened when they lost Barry Williams to injury, replaced by Adam Cooper, and were fortunate not to fall further behind when Gavin Williams drove a close-range effort straight into MacKenzie`s arms on the half-hour mark.

Kirk Jackson also had a good shot saved but the hosts almost caught out Yeovil immediately after half-time when Mark Quayle blasted the ball over the crossbar from an excellent position.

And after 50 minutes, Nuneaton claimed an equaliser through Sam Ricketts, who steered home a clinical shot from the edge of the area.

Richard Lavery could have completed an unlikely turnaround but Chris Weale reacted quickly to block his volley, and Jackson also had a chance to win it for the visitors with a six-yard shot which looped over the crossbar.

Nuneaton: MacKenzie, Thackeray, Barry Williams, Dyson, Love, Doyle, Lavery, Peake, Ricketts, Quayle, Alford. Subs: Wheeler, McGregor, Daniel Williams, Cooper, Turner.

Yeovil: Weale, Lockwood, O'Brien, Pluck, Crittenden, Way, Johnson, McIndoe, Williams, Lindegaard, Jackson. Subs: Skiverton, Grant, Collis, Elkholti, Aggrey.

Referee: D Deadman (Cheshunt).
