Goals from Mouine Chaabani and Khaled Badra were enough to secure a 2-0 victory for Tunisian champions Esperance and could condemn Asec to an early exit.

Without star midfielder Boubacar Traore, Asec fought gallantly but were unable to cope with the Tunisian onslaught.

After Chaabani opened scoring in the 53rd minute, the Ivorians lost confidence and it was no surprise when Badra scored another goal in the 66th.

The result ensures Esperance continue to level-peg Zamalek at the top of the group, with both teams having seven points.
