| Caf cuts penalties ![]() Caf has treated the two sides less harshly than expected Caf has decided to reduce the fines given to the Champions League finalists Zamalek of Egypt and Raja Casablanca of Morocco. The two clubs were heavily penalised after breaking sponsorship and rights contracts over the two legs of the final last year. But the two clubs could count themselves lucky after Caf decided to cut the damages both must pay by 50%. As a result, Zamalek will pay $125,000 while Raja face a demand $150,000. The executive board of Caf came to its decision after reviewing tapes of the Champions League final. African Champions Zamalek allowed unauthorized television crews to broadcast the second leg of the final in Cairo on 13 December. Raja were penalised for wearing shirts with the logo of their sponsor, Coca Cola, despite the competition being sponsored by their biggest rival, Pepsi. Raja went ahead even though they were warned by the competition's marketing company, SportFive. | See also: 15 Dec 02 | CAF club competitions 06 Feb 03 | CAF club competitions Top CAF club competitions stories now: Links to more CAF club competitions stories are at the foot of the page. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
